On Monday, February 6, 2026, the Pharos Academy Launch Team met at Enola First Church of God to continue getting things in order for the opening of Pharos Academy in 2026.

 

The paperwork to establish Pharos Academy’s 501c3 non-profit status has been submitted to the PA Department of Revenue for state recognition.  Work remans to make  this a reality on the federal level.   

 

We continue to raise funds through the “1-100 Wall Envelope Fundraiser” which will soon be moved upstairs in an effort to generate new interest.  Donation envelopes continue to be used by some folks on a regular basis.  Other fundraisers are being considered. 

 

We reported last month that the Task Force looked into “Acton Academy,” a nation-wide franchise modeled like what we envision for Pharos.  Our thoughts were that it may be wise for us to have Pharos become an Acton Academy affiliate.  After much review, the Task Force determined that it would NOT be wise for us to go in that direction. 

 

The group discussed options for launching educational offerings, including a structured 2-day learning program and individual stand-alone classes.  Key details to finalize include:

• Compensation models for teachers (e.g., hourly rates, per-class payments, or per-semester stipends),

• Pricing structures for both the individual classes and the full program,

• How to incorporate and account for H.O.P.E. (“Helping Our Parents Educate”) support/scholarships/discounts within the overall pricing.

We will continue refining these ideas, along with associated costs and fees.  By general consensus, the group agreed to start by offering stand-alone classes initially, with plans to introduce the structured 2-day program at a later stage as we build momentum and experience.
